The Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn

September is one of my favorite months. It’s getting cooler in the Northern Hemisphere and warmer in the Southern Hemisphere. You’re either preparing for a snuggly winter inside or making plans to (safely) be outside in the sun. No matter how you want to spend your days, you should add the Bridgerton series to your list.

First things first: yes, Bridgerton is a successful and wildly popular show based on the series by Julia Quinn. I watched it as soon as Season 1 premiered in December 2020, and I am very much looking forward to the new season.

But, like most adaptations, the books are better.

Did you know there are eight (8!) books? And each book is a healthy size, but they’re all excellent and steamy that you’ll fly through them. Quinn writes women so well that you feel empowered. Even in the books where the story is focused on one of the boys, Quinn does an exquisite job of introducing and writing the women who are courted by the Bridgerton men.

The Duke & I is the first of the books - and the most standalone - which follows the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton clan, Daphne. The subsequent seven follow the Bridgerton children (Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth) in their quest for true love in Regency England. The stories get more complex, the love scenes get steamier, and the characters more beloved. You will fall in love with one, or all, of them.

5/5 Highly Recommend

Happy Reading!!
